Millie Bobby Brown is officially a mom. The 21-year-old actress and her husband Jake Bongiovi, 23, have welcomed their first child together — a baby girl adopted earlier this summer. The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post on August 21, writing:

“This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were 3.”

The announcement marks a major milestone for the couple, who first sparked romance rumors in June 2021 after connecting through Instagram. Brown later revealed they “were friends for a bit” before dating. They secretly tied the knot in May 2024, followed by a celebration in October at Villa Cetinale in Italy, where Brown wore two bridal gowns and Bongiovi shared photos with his father, Jon Bon Jovi.

Brown has long spoken about her desire to become a mother. In a March 2025 episode of the Smartless podcast, she shared that her mom had her first child at 21 and her dad at 19 — and that motherhood had always been part of her vision.

“Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me,” she said.

She also emphasized the importance of family, noting that both she and Jake come from families with four children.

I really want a big family,” she said. “I’m one of four. He’s one of four. So, it is definitely in our future. But for me, I don’t see having your own child as really any different as in adopting.

In a separate appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Brown revealed a personal ritual she’s long associated with motherhood: shaving her head.

“I always tell Jake, for my first baby, I wanna shave my hair off,” she said. “It was really liberating. I’d like to have that experience as a woman.”

The couple has chosen to keep details about their daughter private, including her name and photos, and turned off comments on their announcement post. The gesture reflects their desire to protect their growing family while celebrating this new chapter.

Brown, who stars in the upcoming Stranger Things season 5 and Enola Holmes 3, continues to balance her rising career with her personal dreams — now as a mother.
