From Arrowhead Stadium to a rose garden proposal — the Chiefs celebrate Swift and Kelce’s engagement with heartfelt words and iconic memories.
The Kansas City Chiefs are officially calling Taylor Swift part of the family. Just hours after Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement on August 26, the NFL team posted a celebratory message on Instagram, welcoming the pop icon into the Chiefs Kingdom.
“Today is a fairytale ❤️💍 Congrats to Travis and Taylor—we’re excited to have you as a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family,” the caption read.
The post featured a slideshow of images, including a photo of Swift and Kelce embracing on the field after the Chiefs’ victory over the Buffalo Bills in the 2025 AFC Championship, which secured their spot in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles. The second slide was a repost of the couple’s joint engagement announcement — a floral-filled garden shoot where Kelce proposed with a custom-designed Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond ring by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.
Swift captioned the original post with her signature wit:
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
The engagement comes just two days after Kelce and several Chiefs teammates attended a private screening of ESPN’s The Kingdom, a six-part docuseries chronicling the team’s journey. Held at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, the event also featured appearances by Kelce’s parents, Ed and Donna Kelce.
Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt spoke exclusively to PEOPLE at the screening, sharing how the docuseries offers fans a “fun little peek” into Kelce’s relationship with Swift — including moments neither had publicly shared before.
“We all lived the experience of having her join the Chiefs Kingdom a couple of years ago,” Hunt said. “Hearing the recounting of her coming to that first game, really from her perspective, I thought was really unique.”
Swift’s first appearance at a Chiefs game was on September 23, 2023, when she watched Kelce score a touchdown against the Chicago Bears from a suite alongside his mom. The couple confirmed their romance the following month, stepping out hand-in-hand at a Saturday Night Live afterparty in New York.
Earlier this month, Swift made her debut on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, breaking a Guinness World Record for “most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube.” During the episode, she revealed the “insane” football question she asked Kelce on their first date and described him as a “vibe booster” in everyone’s life.
With a Super Bowl run, a record-breaking podcast, and now a high-profile engagement, Swift and Kelce’s love story continues to captivate fans across sports and entertainment — and the Chiefs are clearly all in.
