Eric Dane’s Death Sparks Tributes — and Renewed Bullying Allegations
The Grey’s Anatomy star, remembered by fans as Dr. Mark Sloan, is now at the center of revived workplace claims following his passing.
Eric Dane, best known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan on Grey’s Anatomy, died on February 19, 2026, after a reported battle with ALS. He was 53. His death prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans and colleagues, but it has also resurfaced past allegations tied to his time on the medical drama.
A former background actress on the series, identified as Tull, posted multiple messages on social media accusing Dane of bullying behavior during her time on set. She described him as a “narcissist” and claimed he mocked and mistreated her, including while she was dealing with health issues.

Tull wrote that Dane’s death “doesn’t change the destruction he caused” and alleged she raised concerns with executives, including the office of creator Shonda Rhimes, which she believes contributed to Dane’s departure from the show in 2012.

There has been no confirmation from ABC, Shondaland, or Dane’s representatives regarding her claims. Official statements at the time of his exit framed it as a mutual decision tied to storylines, while Dane later suggested in interviews that production considerations played a role.

Tull had previously made similar allegations in a 2018 essay, where she reflected on her experience working on the show.

As of now, neither Dane’s representatives nor network executives have publicly responded to her latest comments.
