Dallas started off the game 7-0 against the struggling Texans, but since then, there have been several close calls. Trevon Diggs, a cornerback, was hurt but later made a full recovery, and Johnathan Hankins later had an arm injury. The unfortunate injury disaster struck again on the other side of the ball.

Terence Steele, the starting right tackle, suffered a leg injury late in the second quarter after being rolled onto. Steele was assisted right into the locker room once he was able to stand up.

Although Steele had trouble as a Cowboy at first, he improved during the course of the previous season for the Dallas offence. Josh Ball entered the game after Steele left it, and the drive for a field goal came to a halt. Tyron Smith, an eight-time Pro Bowler, is nearing his comeback, which might be just in time for the offensive line to make adjustments if Steele is down for an extended period of time.

As the first half comes to a conclusion, the Cowboys are deadlocked and injuries are mounting against a weaker team.
